Morningside’s Gerber named AVCA All-American

LEXINGTON, KY. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) has announced its 2019 NAIA All-America list, as voted on by NAIA Volleyball All-America Selection Committee.  Morningside’s Emma Gerber (SR/Worthington, MN) was selected to be named a first-team All-American.

Having received all-region honors last week, Gerber was selected to the 2019 GPAC all-conference first team earlier this year, and was an honorable mention for the AVCA all-region team as a junior.

Gerber had 336 kills this season, averaging 3.0 kills per set.  She had a .310 hitting percentage and a season total of 115 blocks.  Her career total of 1160 kills sets a new record for kills under the current scoring model, and sits tenth on the all-time career kill list.
