Morningside’s Miller named GPAC Special Teams Player of the Week

Freshman Joshua Miller (FR/Lincoln, NE) (Lincoln, Neb.) helped Morningside College’s football special teams’ unit be highlighted by the Great Plains Athletic Conference for a second successive week Monday, Oct. 21.

Miller was named special teams’ Player of the Week following fellow freshman Chase Carter (FR/Knoxville, IA) (Knoxville, Iowa) being honored for his placekicking efforts Oct. 14. Miller’s blocked kick, his second of the season, on the University of Jamestown’s first punt attempt led to a safety and helped trigger nine points in only seven plays for the Maroon as part of a 54-point first half Oct. 19. Morningside ran its record to 6-0 overall and 5-0 in the conference with a 61-0 victory over the Jimmies on their home Elwood Olsen Stadium field.
