NORFOLK, Neb. – Freshman Michael Anderson (Lincoln, Neb.) recorded 30 points and 10 rebounds as the Northeast Community College men’s basketball team cruised past Mount Marty College JV, 122-85 on Friday night at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk.
The Hawks (9-6) shot a blistering 53 percent from the field, 45 percent from beyond the arc and 80 percent from the free-throw line.
Emmette Page (Crystal, Minn.) added 23 points, five assists, four rebounds and four steals. Asher Scavella (Nassau, Bahamas) chipped in 21 points and 14 rebounds, while Merrix Denn (Osmond, Neb.) had 14 points. Ben Moxness (Scribner, Neb.) tallied 13 points and six rebounds, while Deon’ta Tinker (Nassau, Bahamas) had 10 points, eight boards and four assists.
The Hawks are back in action at 3 p.m. on Jan. 4, 2020 when they take on Iowa Lakes Community College for a scrimmage in Sioux City, Iowa.

The Hawks (14-2) toppled Mount Marty College JV, 95-54 at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk.
Macey Kulhanek (Howells, Neb.) led the Hawks with 18 points. Kyla Moore (Norfolk, Neb.) continued her dominant sophomore season with 16 points, six assists, five steals and five rebounds, while Julia Carbonell (Barcelona, Spain) had 14 points. Breanna Stouffer (David City, Neb.) pitched in 13 points, five boards and four steals.
The Hawks shot 47 percent from the field, 42 percent from the three-point line and 86 percent from the charity stripe.
Northeast is off until the new year when they battle Highway 81-foe, Central Community College at 5 p.m. on Jan. 8, 2020 in Norfolk.
