OTTUMWA, Iowa – It wasn’t what the Northeast Community College men’s basketball team had in mind on Saturday night.
The Hawks (12-15, 2-5 ICCAC) struggled to find any offensive rhythm, scoring just 29 points in the first half and 25 in the second half, falling to No. 4 Indian Hills Community College, 86-54 on Saturday night in ICCAC play in Ottumwa, Iowa.
Merrix Denn (Osmond, Neb.) led the Hawks with 20 points, including six 3-pointers. Daniel Akuei (Melbourne, Australia) tallied nine points and six rebounds. Michael Anderson (Lincoln, Neb.) had seven points and five assists.
The Hawks were held to 31 percent shooting from the field and 40 percent shooting from the three-point line.
Northeast welcomes Concordia University JV for a 7 p.m. tip-off Monday night at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk.
