Northeast Men lose at Marshalltown

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa – The Northeast Community College men’s basketball team shot just 36 percent as they fell to Marshalltown Community College on Sunday afternoon, 77-52 in ICCAC action in Marshalltown, Iowa.

The Hawks (11-8, 1-1 ICCAC) were held to just 29 points in the first half and 25 in the second as the Tigers kept Northeast from gaining any momentum.

Daniel Akuei (Melbourne, Australia) tallied 15 points and seven rebounds. Oyiti Amum (Melbourne, Australia) added 11 points, seven rebounds and four assists, while Asher Scavella (Nassau, Bahamas) had 10 points.

Northeast takes the court against No. 4 Indian Hills Community College at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk.
