BC women’s basketball has announced the addition of Kennedy Benne to its 2020-21 team. Benne is a senior at Oakland-Craig Public High School in Oakland, Nebraska and competing in her final basketball season as a Knight.
Benne has earned nine varsity letters in her time at Oakland Craig with three each in basketball, track and volleyball. As a freshman, Benne was named honorable mention all-state basketball and picked up second-team honors as a sophomore and junior, among other honors.
“We are very excited to add Kennedy to this recruiting class,” said assistant coach Bay’lee Purdy. “She brings such great energy on the court! She is always on the floor making hustle plays and is a phenomenal slasher and teammate. Kennedy comes from a successful high school program and will bring a winning mentality to our team. We cannot wait to get her on the court in blue and gold!”
Outside of athletics Benne is involved in band, play production, student council, National Honor Society, quiz bowl and FFA. She has been a member of the High Honor Roll, earned the Pinnacle Bank High School Leaders Award, was named academic all-state, attended the HOBY Leadership Seminar and was a Dual-Credit Scholarship Recipient.
Benne is the daughter of Dale and Stephanie Benner and plans to major in biology at the Cliff.
