ATLANTA – Iowa State women’s basketball junior center Kristin Scott is on the Women’s Citizen Naismith Trophy Watch List, the Atlanta Tipoff announced Wednesday. Scott is one of 50 players in the nation and 10 in the Big 2 Conference to earn a spot on the list.
Last season, Scott averaged 12.8 points, 7.1 rebounds and shot 56.1 percent from the floor and a team-high 38.1 percent from long range, knocking down 45 triples. Scott was Iowa State’s second-leading scorer in 2018-19, helping Iowa State one of its most successful seasons in program history with a second-place finish in the Big 12 and a 26-9 overall record.
To start the 2019-20 season, Scott was to the All-Big 12 team and was named to the All-Big 12 Second Team in 2018-19. She also earned a spot on the Lisa Leslie Award Watch List, which honors the nation’s top center.
The midseason 30 team will be announced in early February, and then the competition will be narrowed down to 10 national semifinalists on March 3, 2020. Following those results, four finalists will be named on March 20, 2020, and the winner of the 2020 Citizen Naismith Trophy for Women’s Player of the Year will be announced on April 4, 2020.
