Seward downs York as Parra throws no-hitter

August 26th, 2020 | Amanda Mendoza
SEWARD- No runs, no hits, no errors, nobody left on base, thats the story of York softball against Seward senior pitcher, Sydney Parra, Tuesday night in Seward. The Bluejays ace faced the minimum 15 batters over the 5-inning affair, as Seward run-ruled the Dukes 10-0. York mustered only two base runners via the walk, but both were erased on well executed double plays by the Seward infield.
Offensively, Seward was led by all-state senior shortstop Grace Hamling, who stroked two singles and a double, and scored twice. The game ended early with a 6-run 5th, capped by a three-run homer by Bluejay freshman Dalaney Anderson. Seward is now 4-0 on the year.
The Dukes, 1-3, were led by sophomore pitcher Lauryn Haggadone, who struck out six Seward hitters.
