Hillsboro, KAN. – York College allowed just 52 points on Monday night as they ran away from Tabor College 73-52. DeAnte Barnes (SR/Rockford, Ill.) led all scorers with 15 points on 6-of-8 shooting. Lance Ewell (SR/Brock, Texas) and Keyaun Hoskin (FR/Duncanville, Texas) both chipped in 14 points.

After two consecutive losses head coach Tree Burks pushed his guys to be tougher defensively. “We worked hard last week and not giving our opponents free shots. We did a lot of stuff with our footwork last week and it showed tonight,” he said. York committed just 12 fouls on the night. Not only did that keep Tabor from the free-throw line, but it also helped the Panthers keep up with the fast-paced game they are used to. “We like to run fast,” said Burks, “and keeping the ball in play allows that to happen. We accomplished that tonight and was a big reason why we were able to keep Tabor from scoring so much.”

York was strong on the boards as well as they outrebounded Tabor 41-25. That allowed the Bluejays to score just six second-chance points.
