Twin Cities Volleyball Invite Results: Sidney goes 6-0, takes title

The Class B state rated Sidney Lady Raiders captured the Twin Cities Volleyball Invite title on Saturday afternoon with a 25-19, 25-27, 25-17 win over Thunder Basin (Gillette WY). Sidney finished the tournament undefeated at 6-0.

On Friday in their pool play matches Sidney knocked off Spearfish, Torrington, and Grand Island Northwest. In Saturday bracket play they got wins over Northwest and Rapid City Central before the the win over Thunder Basin to claim to the championship.

Gering went 0-3 in Gold Bracket on Saturday with losses to Thunder Basin, Ogallala, and Northwest. On Friday the Bulldogs got wins over Lexington and Rapid City Central to go along with a loss to Chadron. The Bulldogs finished 2-4 on the weekend.

Scottsbluff finished fourth in the Silver Bracket on Saturday with an opening round win over McCook then a loss to Alliance before dropping the third place match to Lexington. Scottsbluff lost matches on Friday to Ogallala and Rapid City Stevens to go along with a win over McCook. The Bearcats finished 2-4 this weekend.

Alliance finished the weekend 3-3 and that included a loss in the championship match of the Silver Bracket to North Platte.

C-1 state rated Chadron also came up big this weekend finishing 5-1. The Cardinals swept their pool play matches on Friday and then went 2-1 on Saturday, winning their third place match in the Gold Bracket over Rapid City Central.
