UNO Volleyball picked to finish 3rd in Summit League

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — The Omaha volleyball program was selected third in The Summit League Preseason Coaches’ Poll, the league office announced Wednesday.

This marks the second-straight season that the Mavericks have been picked in the preseason poll. The trio of Isabella SadeAnna Blaschko and Sadie Limback were also selected to The Summit League Players to Watch list.

A native of Marion, Iowa, Sade returns for her junior season after a 2018 campaign that saw her reach All-Summit honors as well as three different all-tournament teams. She led the team with a .343 hitting percentage that ranked second in the league last season. She also had two streaks of five straight double-digit kill matches last year.

Blaschko also enters her junior season alongside Sade, where she started in all 29 matches last year and had a team-high 1.00 blocks per set. Her 26 solo blocks ranked second amongst all Summit League members and saw her garner All-Summit Honorable Mention honors as a sophomore. She was also named to the CEFCU All-Tournament Team in 2018.

Lastly, Limback enters her second season with the Mavericks following a stellar freshman campaign. The right side hitter led the team with 2.89 kills per set that ranked eighth in the league and started 28 of 29 matches last season. Limback also recorded five double-doubles in 2018 and earned a spot on The Summit League Championship All-Tournament Team, as well as MVP honors at the Omaha Challenge.

The Mavericks open play this Thursday, Aug. 22, with the Black and White Scrimmage inside Baxter Arena. The 2019 regular season officially begins with the Omaha Challenge Aug. 30-31 at Baxter Arena. For ticket links and further information on the Omaha Challenge, visit
