The Wayne State College men’s basketball team makes its first NSIC road trip of the season this weekend as the Wildcats play at Bemidji State and Minnesota Crookston. WSC is 5-6 and 2-1 in the NSIC South following a six-game homestand heading into this weekend’s play. BSU is 4-3 and 1-2 in the NSIC North while UMC starts the weekend at 6-3 on the season and 2-1 in the league. Last season, WSC posted wins over both teams in Wayne – 75-59 over Bemidji State and 72-52 over the Golden Eagles.
Wayne State embarks on their first NSIC women’s basketball road trip of the season this weekend with games Friday night at Bemidji State (5:30 p.m.) and Minnesota Crookston Saturday at 3:30 p.m. The Wildcats are 6-2 on the year and 2-1 in the NSIC South heading into Friday’s matchup vs. the Beavers in Bemidji, who are 4-3 and 1-2 NSIC North. Minnesota Crookston starts the weekend at 1-6 and 0-3 in the league. Last season, WSC won both meetings against BSU and UMC in Wayne, topping the Beavers 85-71 and edging the Golden Eagles 88-83.
