York Duke Girls Fall For First Time, Boys To Play In Holiday Tournament Title

HUMPHREY- York traveled to the Humphrey St. Francis for their Holiday Tournament as each of the Duke teams faced the Crofton Warriors. For the girls’ game, the final score was 64-43 in favor of Crofton. And the York boys were able to win their first game of the season 76-44 over Crofton.

In the girls’ game, it was tied at 13-13, but the Warriors outscored the Dukes 51-30 in the next three quarters to capture the victory and move onto the championship game Saturday against Humphrey St. Francis at 5:15 P.M. Crofton is now 7-1 on the year. Jayden Jordan had 16 points to lead the Warriors.  York drops their first game of the season now at 6-1. York was led by Natalia Dick and her 12 points. York will face Wynot tomorrow in the 3rd and 4th place game at 2:00 P.M.

In the boys’ game, it was all Dukes as they used a steady offensive output including 18 points in each of the first three quarters, then 22 in the final period. Matt Haggadone had a big-time game as well, recording 36 points and four three-pointers. York will play in the championship game on Saturday at 7:00 P.M. and look to build on their 1-5 record. Crofton falls to 3-4 and will play in the consolation game at 3:30 P.M.
